For a long time now, I have used the word information for the content of communication, reserving the word knowledge for processes in a human mind. This is my brain trying to be rational and clear about the relation between information and knowledge. The problem is that this view is not in line with my epistemology. A computer is for example a hybrid between material and knowledge. I’m going to be very sparse with the concept information from now on. Most phenomena I usually call information are covered by the concept pair knowledge/communication. This is not so much a change of mind as a change of rhetoric.

The makers of Ubuntu Linux say that Ubuntu is supposed to be so easy to use your grandma can use it. Well, though I like Ubuntu (in its latest Dapper form) it is very complicated to install codecs and things like that. Mp3 is not preinstalled!
